15% of programme allocation - Approximately £18 million

The funding under Priority 1 will be limited to the 30% of the Objective 2 population resident in the most disadvantaged wards, as identified using the Index of Multiple Deprivation 2000.

The Strategic Objective for Priority 1 is:
'to reduce economic and social exclusion in the most deprived communities in the South West Objective 2 area, whilst building the capacity of community and voluntary groups by local people in these areas to plan and implement strategies which address the needs of their area.'

St. Phillips MarshPriority 2: SME Development, Technology and Innovation

50% of programme allocation - Approximately £61.5 million

The Strategic Objective for Priority 2 is:
'to increase the competitiveness and sustainability of new and existing SME's as a means of increasing employment and income.'

Farmers MarketPriority 3: A Better Future For Traditional Economies

34% of programme allocation - Approximately £41m

The Strategic Objective for Priority 3 is:
'to improve the traditional economies of the region by supporting strategic investment which safeguards existing jobs and creates new employment opportunities.'
