Priority 1: Neighbourhood Renewal15% of programme allocation - Approximately £18 million
The funding under Priority 1 will be limited to the 30% of the Objective 2 population resident in the most disadvantaged wards, as identified using the Index of Multiple Deprivation 2000.
The Strategic Objective for Priority 1 is:
'to reduce economic and social exclusion in the most deprived communities in the South West Objective 2 area, whilst building the capacity of community and voluntary groups by local people in these areas to plan and implement strategies which address the needs of their area.'

'to increase the competitiveness and sustainability of new and existing SME's as a means of increasing employment and income.'
